SCNPF’s “Insider Sessions” are professional development workshops and masterclasses for those in the industry, including established professionals, emerging and early-career artists, and theatre students. All sessions are led by experienced arts leaders and luminaries and provide a seminar-environment where discussion is highly encouraged.

  • 11:30am Secrets from a Casting Director

    Merri Sugarman’s Broadway casting credits include School of Rock, Spamalot, Jersey Boys, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Jesus Christ Superstar, It Shoulda Been You, Miss Saigon, A Bronx Tale and Ain’t Too Proud. Hear her stories and learn how an actor goes from a dream to a TONY win by being cast in the biggest Broadway show.

  • 12:30pm Professional Training Programs

    Join Bria Walker-Rhoze from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and Michael Minarik from the Institute for American Musical Theater (IAMT) for an illuminating hour on what it takes to pursue professional training in the arts after high school. Discover insights into audition expectations, program differences, and how to chart your unique path in the industry. Bring your questions—these experts are ready to help you take your next step!

  • 4:30 Voice Over work in animation

    Join Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond as they share industry info from the dynamic world of voiceover work. In this exclusive session, they will delve into the unique challenges and rewards of voice acting in animation and the creative process behind bringing an animated character to life on their Disney Junior series Vampirina and the Netflix Series Ridley Jones.

  • 6:00pm Writing your Play or Pilot

    Join Aurin Squire, an award-winning writer, for a panel on the art and craft of writing for the stage and screen. Aurin was most recently on Broadway as the bookwriter of “A Wonderful World”. He won the Helen Merrill Prize for Emerging Playwrights and the Emerald Prize from Seattle Public Theatre for his new drama. He is also known for the hit NBC Drama “This is Us” and was a co-executive Producer on the CBS Dramas “the Good Fight” and “Evil”. This session is a must for anyone passionate about storytelling.

    Traveling to Greenville is incredibly easy. The Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) airport has been named one of the two best airports in the country.

    There are 6 non-stop flights from NYC to GSP every day. United flies EWR-GSP, Delta and American fly LGA-GSP.

    There is a non-stop flight from LAX to GSP on Breeze airways.
